Navigating Life Transitions - Dr. Kelly Karjoo, PsyD, CMNCS
Life is a journey marked by transitions—some anticipated, others unexpected. As a psychologist, I understand that certain life changes can be particularly challenging and emotionally taxing.
These transitions might include the death or loss of a loved one, the end or change of a relationship, divorce or separation, welcoming a new child, experiencing an empty nest, hitting milestone birthdays, changes in health (yours or a loved one’s), caregiving for parents or family members, career or job changes, identity shifts (such as LGBTQIA+), moving to a new home, or any other significant life event that has been difficult to adjust to emotionally. I find fulfillment in supporting clients through these changes, helping them adapt to their new circumstances and find a renewed sense of purpose.
Often, these moments of transition can lead to growth and newfound fulfillment, though it may take time and practice to recognize them as such. Seeking therapy during life transitions is an act of courage and self-care. Let’s navigate these crossroads together, embracing the opportunities they present for personal development.
