Fees & Insurance - Dr. Kelly Karjoo, PsyD, CMNCS

Therapy Fees:​

  • Initial Intake Session: $250 
    This comprehensive session helps Dr. Karjoo assess your needs and develop a personalized treatment plan.

  • Individual Therapy Session (45-50 minutes): $175 per session
    Regular therapy sessions designed to address your mental health concerns. 

  • Individual Therapy Session (53+ minutes): $200 per session 
    Extended sessions for more in-depth exploration and support.

  • Bariatric Pre-surgical Evaluation: $750 
    A specialized evaluation required before bariatric surgery to ensure mental and emotional preparedness.
     

Insurance Reimbursement:

Dr. Karjoo operates as an Out-of-Network provider. She can provide you with a monthly Superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, based on your Out-of-Network benefits. If you have questions about your mental health insurance benefits, Dr. Karjoo can assist you in understanding the often confusing and cumbersome details.

No Surprises Act 

 

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Healthcare providers must give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • Good Faith Estimate: You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Timing: Your healthcare provider must give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling any item or service.

  • Dispute a Bill: If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
